The Self Realization and Meditation Experience
While Realization or Enlightenment may appear to be a very complex phenomenon with all the energy channels and energy movement we've discussed, it is, in fact, quite the opposite. The actual awakening of the Kundalini — its passage through the six energy centers and connection with the cosmic energy — takes only a fraction of a second!
The person who's having this experience may feel a tingling sensation in the fingers and perhaps a little on the crown of the head. Aside from this sensation, there is only the beautiful experience of inner peace and silence. Most people feel their wandering minds and thoughts slowing down -- or even stopping -- during the process of receiving Enlightenment. It's also common to not feel anything at all. In fact, after each program I perform, a few listeners approach me to say that they felt nothing at all. They wonder whether their energy has been awakened or not.
The answer is yes. Without a doubt, the energy awakening definitely takes place in everyone; however, individuals vary in their sensitivity to vibrations and ability to feel the energy passing through their energy centers. Each of us is different, when it comes to the state of our energy centers. Some people are better primed for this experience and start feeling the cool vibrations immediately, while others take a few weeks to feel the vibrations (as they continue to meditate, once the energy is awakened).
At the very least, everyone enjoys the inner silence. And for the duration of the program, their attention moves inward to a much higher plane of awareness and away from the routine and mundane thoughts and drills of daily life -- this is what people treasure most about the experience. They also enjoy the satisfaction of having learned something new that is meaningful and insightful.

Beyond the Initial Energy Awakening… What happens next
Though the one-time process of energy awakening is a very deep, profound experience, self-improvement and true spiritual enlightenment does not end there. It's an ongoing process that must be nurtured carefully, deepened, heightened and intensified through regular meditation and a continuous, life-long focus on enhancing the qualities attributed to each of the energy centers.
Spiritual enlightenment is not a flash in the pan or a one-time thrill. It's not an "experiment" that you undertake in hopes of scaling the ultimate heights of awakening in one session. Authentic spiritual awakening requires dedication, perseverance and focus. But the good news is that the initial meditation and experiencing of the energy is imminently enjoyable and immensely beneficial. In other words, the experience itself is a reward. The transformation that will settle into your life after you experience enlightenment will make pursuing a lifelong spiritual journey a no-brainer.
Meditation is the act of stilling the mind or achieving what is known as a state of "Thoughtless Awareness." This state can be easily achieved once your inner spiritual energy has been awakened and passes through the seventh energy center at the crown of your head to connect with the cosmic energy. In this meditative state, mental thoughts can be made to gradually slow and stop, and a "vacuum," which provides complete bliss and calm within, is created. Listening to music — ragas in particular — can help you advance to the state of Thoughtless Awareness. Music helps you "fall into a meditative state," as opposed to "performing meditation."
The actual process of continuing the spiritual journey is very simple. One has to simply meditate at home for 10 – 15 minutes twice a day. This simple exercise keeps the connection alive and strengthens it gradually over time.
I can help you understand techniques of meditation and how to pursue your spiritual journey beyond the initial experience. There’s no physical activity involved, nor will you need to learn complex or rigorous complex techniques.
